Ted Wlazlowski
Managing Director

TedTed Wlazlowski is Managing Director and Vice President, Business Development for Smart Holograms Ltd. responsible for commercial and partner programs for this Cambridge University (UK) technology spin out. With over 30 years in the security and communication industries, Mr. Wlazlowski has started, acquired or merged over 30 high technology firms for such industry leaders as Honeywell, AT&T, Invensys, and Ultrak.

Since 2003, he served as turnaround CEO for 2 anti-terrorist and IT related companies. Prior to this, Ted joined Isotag Technology Inc. (now Authentix, a leader in anti-counterfeiting technology) in January 2001, as CEO, President and COO. The business was restructured, a complete new management team installed, capital raised, and a new business proposition implemented.

Ted was formerly Chief Operating Officer of Ultrak Inc., a Dallas area publicly trading security device and systems organization with revenues in excess of $200M and business operations throughout the world. After restructure, the company was sold to Honeywell.

Prior to joining Ultrak, he was Sr. Vice President of Siebe plc (now Invensys), then a $10B British conglomerate that was a world leader in industrial, building, and home automation and services. He merged 2 competing companies and advanced the group from $135M to almost $500M via creation of highly successful service organizations and a series of acquisitions and new business starts, 15 in total over a 9 year period. Nine of the acquisitions were in Europe and Asia Pacific.

Ted’s career started with Honeywell in sales and branch management in 1976 and he also spent almost 6 years with AT&T during which he launched a business unit in integrated intelligent networking and grew it almost $150M in 2 years. Today, that unit is over a $1B segment of the Lucent spin-off Avaya.

He is currently serves in board advisory positions for two technology companies and has served on a number of company boards under his management. He also served as Chairman and founder of two Chinese joint ventures while at Invensys.

Dr. John Pritchard
Chief Technical Officer

JohnJohn has over 20 years international experience with companies such as Boehringer Mannheim, Genzyme and Hypoguard. At Boehringer Mannheim, he was responsible for the development of the first generation biosensor test strip for the Accuchek® Advantage™ blood glucose monitoring system. This blockbuster product generated over $1 billion in sales revenue worldwide.

Julian Attfield
Chief Financial Officer

JulianJulian Attfield is Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for leading the financial strategy and funding initiatives of the business.

Julian was CFO and then CEO at GeneMedix plc, an AIM listed, biopharmaceutical company, until December 2007. During the seven year period he was at GeneMedix plc, the Company floated on the Official List of the London and Singapore Stock Exchanges, acquired and divested a business in China, and set up manufacturing and joint ventures in Ireland and Spain. Julian led the company in early 2007 into an acquisition by Reliance Life Sciences, part of the large Reliance Industries Group of India, and a move onto the AIM market.

Previously he was Director of Finance and Administration with Sigma-Genosys Ltd, a manufacturer of biomolecules. He trained as a chartered accountant with Andersens (now part of Deloitte & Touche) in the Cambridge Office. He is also currently a Non-Executive Director of BHK Inc, a stem cell Company that has recently listed on AIM.

Dr. Heiner Dreismann
Chairman

HeinerDr. Dreismann has more than 20 years’ experience in biotech and healthcare companies, and was most recently President and CEO of Roche Molecular Systems, a business which he expanded rapidly in six areas – virology, blood screening, women’s health, microbiology, oncology and genomics.

Previously, Dr. Dreismann held various management positions at Roche, including head of integration office diagnostics for the merger of the IVD business of Roche Diagnostics and Boehringer Mannheim – a merger that is widely considered to be one of the most successful in the industry in recent years.

John McKinley
Non-Executive Chairman

JohnJohn has over 20 years experience in the biotechnology industry, building global public and private companies as CEO, director and Chairman.

Formerly a solicitor specialising in corporate, M & A and intellectual property law, he then joined Celsis International Plc as Company Secretary and Legal Director and then as CEO built Enviros Ltd as a global environmental group. He was then appointed as CEO of Benitec Ltd (the Australian gene silencing company), a public/private partnership between the Queensland government and CSIRO and after listing the company, was appointed Executive Chairman resigning in February 2005.

He is currently Executive Chairman of Enigma Diagnostics Ltd, a public private partnership with DSTL providing rapid PCR technology for biological detection.

Chris Lowe
Co-Founder and Company Director

ChrisChris is currently a Fellow of Trinity College and a Professor and Director of the Institute of Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge.

His research work is multidisciplinary and covers aspects of biochemistry, microbiology, chemistry, electrochemistry, physics, electronics and chemical engineering. He is also actively involved in scientific work that includes prototype product development and R&D strategy. His work has led to the launch of many innovative products in the Life Sciences industry over the last 30 years.

He is actively involved in many worldwide collaborations, is on the Editorial Boards of a number of academic journals and is a member of several UK Research Council and Government Committees on Scientific Policy. He has published around 300 peer-revised scientific papers and book chapters and has filed over 40 patents.

Harvey Boulter
Company Director

HarveyHarvey is a Founder and Director of Porton Capital.

He has previously had many years' experience in corporate finance, most recently with UBS Warburg in London where he headed the global aerospace and defence team. Prior to this, he worked in UK investment banking where he was involved with a number of transactions including acquisitions, disposals, initial public offerings and a hostile defence.

Harvey is an Associate of the Institute of Accountants, having qualified with Deloitte and Touche in 1994, and is also a Fellow of the Securities Institute. He is a graduate in Economics and Accountancy from the University of Bristol. Smart Holograms is a portfolio company of Porton’s Science and Innovation Fund, which is currently ranked Number One in the S&P Technology Sector.

Andrew Hegarty
Director

hegartyAndrew began his career as a corporate financier in 1994 with HSBC Investment Bank, involved in numerous public market transactions including IPOs, capital raisings, and M&A.

He left in 1999 to join Hanson Capital, a privately-owned investment and advisory firm, based in London and Los Angeles, which specialised in early-stage situations and principal investing. In 2001, he joined touchstone Securities,an independent advisory boutique, based in London, which provided high-level corporate finance advice to large corporates, private families and institutions. In 2003 he left to become a principal with P^P Partners, a private family office with £150m under management, engaged in private equity and direct investment.

In 2006 Andrew was appointed a Director of Synergis Technologies, the UK arm of venture investment firm Porton Capital. He now represents Porton Capital as an investor director on five of their UK portfolio companies: Alaska Food Diagnostics, Cellcrypt, Hydroventuri, P2i and Smart holograms. Andrew studied Management Administration at Aston University.
